Contribute to the Core Facility Karolinska MRI Center in a World-unique research hub in BioClinicum in Solna with new premises and a new state-of-art MRI scanner dedicated to preclinical and translational clinical research. Your mission

You will constitute a cornerstone of our Core Facility, providing support to our users and building upon a long tradition of successful experimental neuroscience research. During the fall of 2022, we will be moving into our new premises with a new cutting-edge 3 Tesla MRI scanner, GE SIGNA Premier XT, with high-strength gradients (80 mT/m with 200 T/m/s slew rate) and a wide bore (70 cm). You will contribute to setting up new research projects and evolving our research environment.

As the senior lab manager, you will:

  • Work closely with users, MRI physicists and MRI technologists in the research setting in a service minded manner, including overseeing daily operations and keeping our community updated through different information channels.
  • Promote research efforts with a focus on supporting study design, experimental setup, data management and analysis.
  • Interact with IT regarding servers for data storage and processing.
  • Be responsible for organizing and contributing to courses and workshops on neuroimaging with a focus on structural and functional MRI.

Your profile

Requirements

  • PhD and eventual previous experience as a postdoctoral research fellow in neuroscience/psychology, data science/biotechnology, or equivalent.
  • Solid and documented experience in managing and analyzing structural and functional MRI data.
  • Experience in programming with special consideration given to MATLAB, Python and R.
  • Independence; you can plan, organize and prioritize your work in an independent and efficient manner.
  • Service minded and an ability to work well inter-disciplinary (participants, students, junior and senior researchers, clinical staff); you are responsive and communicate clearly.
  • Good language skills, fluent written and spoken English.

Qualifications

  • Experience in lab management and user support is an especially important qualification.
  • Experience in installation and support of technical experimental equipment and organizing data storage.
  • Experience in developing and performing studies in functional and structural MRI and multimodal integration.
  • Experience in teaching with a focus on neuroimaging.
  • Good language skills in written and spoken Swedish.
