Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Myasthenia gravis is a rare potentially life-threatening disease that affects muscle function. The underlying causes of the disease are largely unknown, and evidence for effectiveness and safety of treatments used is limited. We are therefore conducting several national epidemiological and clinical studies, to better characterize the disease and improve treatment. Within our research group, led by Professor Fredrik Piehl, you get a unique opportunity to work with pioneering research at the intersection of immunology, genetics, and clinical neurology. We offer an engaging and international research environment where you can contribute to high-quality research at an internationally competitive level.

Your mission

The position is focused on epidemiological analysis of already collected clinical data and linkage of data to national registers. As a research assistant, you will primarily carry out pharmacoepidemiological analyzes, aiming at identifying effective drugs in myasthenia gravis. The overall goal of the research project is to identify effective treatment methods through registry studies.

Your profile

To be eligible to apply for the position, you must have completed a master's degree, or be able to show that you have otherwise gained equivalent experience. Independent data analysis is a requirement, as the work relies on advanced statistical analyzes of data from large clinical cohorts.

Merits

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as medicine or epidemiology.
  • Documented experience of handling complex data.
  • Independent advanced data analysis ability with solid experience of SAS and SPSS.
  • Documented good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Previous experience of conducting epidemiological research.
  • Good collaborative and communicative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and systematically.

You are expected to be able to work independently and scientifically stringent. Previous research experience in epidemiology and clinical neurology shown by scientific publications represent a strong qualifying criteria. We attach great importance to personal suitability.
