As well as statistical methodology development, the project will include analyses of data from large, detailed studies of breast cancer and mammography screening (with large-scale genetics and image data). There will be ample opportunities to collaborate with other academic statisticians and researchers in cancer epidemiology. The successful applicant will also be encouraged to participate in a computational statistics project as part of a cross-university collaboration within an e-science program.

This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

The position requires a university degree in statistics/mathematics and a PhD degree with focus on statistics, biostatistics, or a closely related field (experience in mixed effects modeling, computational statistics or survival analysis would be ideal). The applicant should have a strong interest in both methodology development and in applications. Important personal characteristics are that you have good communication ability, can work in a structured way and enjoy collaborating.
