The Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics is the premier department for basic science at KI, located in Biomedicum, a new center for experimental research. The successful candidate will become a member of the Division of Chemistry 2 and be part of front-line research in the field of bioactive lipids, especially prostaglandins, leukotrienes and lipoxins, collectively known as eicosanoids.

Your profile

The applicant needs to have strong competence in running projects independently and good abilities for teamwork and cooperation within a dynamic group of basic scientists. The applicant is expected to lead and conduct cutting-edge research for publication in highly ranked journals, apply for independent grants, and supervise Ph.D. students

Eligibility

  • A PhD degree in the field of bioactive lipids, obtained in a preclinical research environment.
  • Hands-on research experience of proteins in the eicosanoid pathways, including eicosanoid receptors and biosynthetic enzymes.
  • Extensive experience of analytical techniques for identification and quantitation of eicosanoids.
  • Knowledge and experience in the research field of immunometabolism.
  • Extensive experience with experimental technics in cell biology and molecular biology such as lentiviral shRNA transduction, qRT-PCR, western blot, flow cytometry and immunofluorescence.
  • Ability in omics data analysis.
