The Division of Eye and Vision conducts education at the undergraduate, advanced, and postgraduate levels, as well as research with the aim of developing the eye care for the future. We are a multidisciplinary team, and we teach students with different educational background in an interprofessional environment.
Research related to our in-house clinic and initiatives to develop exiting and new courses are encouraged. Our unit is continuously working towards developments to enable a sustainable future eye health care.
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding academic to the role of Assistant Senior Lecturer in Optometry. The successful applicant will be mainly leading courses in thesis work at basic and advance levels within the program. This will include project planning, supervision, course development and administration regarding to this.
To be eligible for an employment as Assistant Senior Lecturer the applicant must have demonstrated scientific expertise and completed a doctoral degree in a subject area relevant for the duties. In addition to the doctoral thesis the applicant must have published at least three scientific peer reviewed publications. The applicant must partially meet the requirements for excellent teaching experience and expertise and have shown good pedagogical independence. The applicant shall also have completed 10 weeks of courses on teaching in higher education (or have equivalent competence), as indicated in the recommendations of the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institution.

Furthermore, the applicant should have demonstrated excellent pedagogical competence and have an interest in working with the development of research and education. It is an advantage that you already have experience of supervising students at bachelor's, master's and doctoral level, good knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic ocular preparations and experience from work in optometric operations and eye care.
