We are looking for a research assistant who can contribute to our research project on the female genital tract mucosa and its susceptibility to sexually transmitted infections. Mucosal tissue biopsies are available from women at high risk of HIV infection. These will be stained and analysed for immunological and structural markers of HIV susceptibility. The candidate will work under supervision and will be invited to all research group activities, including scientific discussions, seminars and meetings.

Your mission

The candidate will prepare tissue sample sections for immunostaining, select markers of interest, perform immunofluorescence stainings, scan the glass slides and analyze the imaging data.

Your profile

The candidate is expected to know how to handle the biopsies, including advanced skills in immunostaining and handling of digitalized imaging data sets. The candidate needs to have experience in interpreting and summarizing the data into a laboratory report/manuscript format.

Location

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of twelve divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located within the research group Broliden, Division of Infectious Diseases.
