The Department of Medicine Solna is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet and is organized in several research divisions. The Clinical Epidemiology Division is home to six research groups that conduct research in population-based epidemiology through the use of register-based health care data, often supplemented with information from medical records, biological samples, and surveys, to address questions that aim to improve patient health care and clinical practice. The projects conducted at the division typically have a strong clinical anchoring.
The cancer epidemiology research group consists of about 20 clinicians, statisticians, PhD candidates and postdocs who do research that focusses on survival and survivorship issues after cancer, with a particular emphasis on lymphoma.
We are now expanding our group and look for a junior biostatistician who will work with data management, study design, analysis and research documentation together with other statisticians as well as clinical researchers. The job also includes a coordinating role in an ongoing industry-academia collaboration.
The successful applicant should have a candidate or master degree in statistics, mathematical statistics or medical statistics. Experience from working with observational register-based research is a merit. Knowledge in statistical software, e.g., SAS, Stata or R, is a requirement.
Excellent knowledge of spoken and written scientific English and strong presentation skills are essential. In the assessment of the candidates, we place particular emphasis on interpersonal skills.
