We are seeking a senior research specialist with deep knowledge in lung cancer biology and therapy for work in a translational lung cancer team. You will work close to frontline clinical lung cancer research and in an interdisciplinary research team.
We are looking for a senior research specialist for a 20% position to our translational lung cancer team. Your task will be to drive pre-clinical molecular cancer research lung cancer research related to our ongoing translational program which focuses on personalized cancer medicine and radiation therapy for lung cancer.
As a senior research specialist, you will interact with clinical oncologists in the field of EGFR/ALK targeted therapy, immune therapy as well as radiotherapy and have responsibilities in driving parts of our molecular research. You will supervise PhD students, Master students and Post Docs. You will also be our point of contact and drive research towards our partners at other universities with focus on extra cellular vesicle biology, radiation therapy clinical trials and biomarkers for lung cancer.
In addition, you will take the task to carry out our research administration work, concerning setting up grant applications towards national and international funding bodies as well as administering our collaborative efforts with pharmaceutical industries in the oncology field.
To be eligible for employment as a Senior Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated good level of research expertise with significant scientific production. The applicant must also have demonstrated a good scientific independence to which their own contribution has been significant and a research plan of high quality with clear potential for the future.
We are searching for a co-worker who is capable of independently drive our research line in the field of molecular cancer research with focus on translational lung cancer and radiotherapy. We think that you have at least 5 years’ experience in this field and previous knowledge in the field of radiation therapy, RTK signaling and tumor extra cellular vesicles. To be able to serve the clinical projects we are looking for you who holds a deep knowledge in molecular signaling in response to radiation therapy. Moreover, our projects are cross disciplinary and involve both molecular and clinical parts therefore you need to have previous experience in working with clinical lung cancer samples.
Apart from driving our molecular research line you will help supervising PhD-students with a clinical background in oncology. Another task will be to coordinate interdisciplinary research projects involving collaborators in the field of biotechnology, bioengineering, biomarker discovery and novel therapeutics. We therefore welcome that you have previous experience in such project coordination and/or work.
You also need to have knowledge and experience in setting up national/international research grant proposals. It will be a merit if you have worked in European union projects and have previous experience in scientific as well as administrative tasks including reporting and budgets.
As a person we welcome you who are dedicated to your work, strive to be a good team worker and have capacity to write and speak fluently in the English language. Basic knowledge in Swedish is a requirement as you will work with clinical samples in the hospital area where communication most often will be in Swedish.
