Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Research at the Institute of Environmental Medicine is carried out in four major areas: epidemiology, toxicology, physiology, environmental and occupational medicine. The institute offers an excellent international research and working environment, and has about 350 employees and associates. The institute also provides authorities in Sweden and EC as well as international organisations (e.g. WHO) with expertise on environmental health risk assessments.

The aim of the research at the unit Metals and Health is to identify toxic effects of metals in the general and in the work environment, to understand causal relationships between metal exposure and various diseases, and how susceptibility factors influence these relationships. We also study mixed exposure, e.g. with to organic compounds. We work both in vitro and in vivo (molecular epidemiology). We now search for an assistant professor with competence in toxicology for research and for teaching.

Your mission

This position is focused on toxicological studies of particles by using in vitro methods and eventually in studies of humans<. The methods encompass toxicology, genetics, chemistry and bioinformatics. You will also be responsible for supervising doctoral and master’s student’s projects. Finally, you will also be involved in teaching in the Master programme in Toxicology.
