We are looking for a committed early career scientist working in the field of chromosome molecular biology with focus on chromatin topology and cancer-related research, including development of novel treatments.
The successful candidate is expected to establish and lead a research team towards novel discoveries within the subject area, and to disseminate these findings at the international arena in the form of scientific publications and presentations at national and international research conferences and seminars. Other included tasks are research development, recruitment, and management of personnel within the team, and fund raising. He/she should also teach and supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and actively participate in other departmental activities when called upon.
To be eligible for employment as a Principal Researcher, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise. The applicant must also be a Research Leader and have established their own line of research on cancer-related chromosome dynamics and function. The applicant should furthermore have shown documented, high-quality scientific production, particularly in the last six years. An ability to energetically drive his/her research forward, and national and international recognition of previously performed research is also required. The applicant should also have obtained good, long-term and preferably external funding and have the potential to obtain further external funding. The applicant should have shown teaching and supervision experience and demonstrated good leadership qualities.
