The main goal of the research at the Unit of Integrative Epidemiology is to improve the understanding of the causes and consequences of ill health and disease, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, and cancer. We strive for multidisciplinary approaches in epidemiologic research and integrate different scientific tools when addressing specific research questions. The Unit seeks an enthusiastic research assistant. 

Your mission

The successful candidate will support and participate in several research projects. The main tasks are data management and cleaning of the collected data, updating existing databases. Documenting data management steps and ensuring databases in our research group have excellent data quality. Other tasks include administrative and organisational assignments. This will take up 80% of the research assistant's time, while 20% is reserved for a small research project. We are looking for someone who feels comfortable in a supporting role.

The ability to work in a highly interdisciplinary and international environment, and to engage in continuous professional development is a must.

Your profile

The successful applicant is expected to have:

  • Advanced data management skills using SAS (skills with R and/or Microsoft Access are an advantage)
  • Experience and interest in data management and databases
  • Interest in working in an international research group, preferably with experience of international collaborations
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication in English, knowledge of Swedish is an advantage
  • Attention to detail, problem solving ability and social skills are highly valuable
  • Knowledgeable and serious about data protection and GDPR rules
