Centre for Psychiatry Research at the Department of Clinical is one of the largest clinical psychiatric research centers in Sweden, connecting 22 research groups. Our research group studies depression and anxiety as well as destructive behaviors such as nonsuicidal self-injury, suicide attempts, and aggression. We study these mental health problems and behaviors in national and regional registries, as well as through clinical intervention studies.
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who is expected to conduct studies within psychiatric epidemiology. The work will be conducted with other researchers in the group and with colleagues from other departments at KI as well as in USA. The postdoctoral researcher will mainly work with data sets at the national level as well as those collected at KI, and engage in study planning, data management, statistical analyses, manuscript writing and grant applications. If qualified, the post-doctoral researcher will also teach and assist students in using statistical software and conducting analyses of randomized controlled intervention trials.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
The successful candidate must have documented experience of epidemiological research. It is required that you have experience of working with large datasets and registries as well as data management and analysis using R, SAS, and/or Stata. Extra merit is given to applicants with previous experience of research in the areas of psychiatric epidemiology using national Swedish registries. Excellent English skills are required. The work involves both independent tasks and close collaboration with others and therefore demands a capacity to work thoroughly and independently, to initiate and drive work processes as well as good teamwork and communication skills.
