A position as Clinical assistant is available in the group of Professor Joakim Dillner at the Department of Laboratory Medicine. The successful applicant will join a research team focusing on eScience and cancer prevention research. Within a center for cervical cancer prevention, the group conducts basic and translational studies of human papillomavirus (HPV) and HPV-based prevention and holds the international HPV reference laboratory where we sequence, document, and store all new Papillomaviruses.

The group is involved in national and international projects on exposome research and cervical cancer prevention and maintains a high profile in disseminating research findings and working with health authorities to monitor and evaluate prevention efforts.

The successful candidate will lead a project team studying the epidemiology and vaccinology of Human Papillomavirus.

Your mission

  • Project planning in infectious epidemiology, especially in HPV screening and HPV vaccination
  • Project management in infectious disease epidemiology
  • Attend R&D meetings every Monday.
  • Mentor for existing doctoral students and postdocs, with regular meetings with them to provide further perspectives and in-depth training in their education within the fields infectious disease epidemiology, cancer screening and vaccinology.

Your profile

  • MD, PhD and docent (equivalent to associate professor)
  • Experience in conducting large randomized vaccination trials
  • Experience in international research collaboration
  • Comprehensive publication in internationally leading scientific journals as lead author
  • Experience in supervising doctoral students for dissertation
  • Good Leadership Characteristics
  • Good Collaboration skills
  • Fluent in English in both speech and writing
