At the Division of Insurance Medicine, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, we study different aspects of sickness absence, health, work and living conditions. We are approximately 75 employees and run about 25 different projects. The main focus of the research group MENTE is at the intersection of psychiatric epidemiology and insurance medicine. We offer a stimulating scientific environment as well as a possibility to collaborate with other researchers at the division, in Sweden and abroad.
We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher that is expected to conduct studies in mainly EU-financed projects within psychiatric epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology. The work will be conducted with other researchers in the group and with colleagues in several European countries as well as USA. The post-doctoral researcher will mainly work with study planning, data management, statistical analyses, manuscript writing and grant applications.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
The successful candidate must have documented experience of epidemiological research. It is a particular merit if you have experience of working with large datasets and registers as well as data management and analysis using, e.g., SAS, STATA, SPSS, or R. Extra merit is given to applicants with previous experience of research in the areas of psychiatric epidemiology or pharmacoepidemiology. Excellent English skills are required. The work involves both independent tasks and close collaboration with others and therefore demands a capacity to work thoroughly and independently, to initiate and drive work processes as well as good teamwork and communication skills.
