At our Laboratory of Translational Fertility Preservation at Karolinska Institutet we aim to overcome infertility in young patients after cancer treatment. Our group conducts translational research in close collaboration with the clinicians of Karolinska University Hospital.

Your mission

The research work focuses on experimental research on fertility preservation and testicular toxicity induced by cancer treatment.  In vitro culture methods will be used. You will be responsible for developing protocols for culture and to improve existing protocols aimed at increasing survival of testicular cells in experimental studies. You will work both independently and in close collaboration with other members of the group.

Your profile

A previous experimental work in testicular research and in vitro culture methods is required. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply.

The successful candidate should have a strong background in reproductive biology research, with experience in the field of reproductive biology and eventually some publications. A broad hands-on experience in cell- and molecular methods, particularly with testicular tissue and culture is important. Experience from working with experimental models using animal or human gametes is a plus.

We are looking for a highly motivated person with strong interest in novel technologies. We expect the candidate to be independent as well as having very good collaboration skills.

Fluency in English (oral and written) is a requirement.
