The main objectives of the Department of Oncology-Pathology are basic, translational and clinical research and educational activities related to cancer. Approximately 300 people from over 40 nations are currently working at the department. 37 research groups with various cancer research profiles are involved and we have around 120 PhD students. The Department of Oncology-Pathology is responsible for undergraduate courses in Pathology and Oncology for medical students, as well as for Tumor biology courses for biomedicine students and Pathology courses for opticians.

Your mission

One postdoctoral position for 1 year with the possibility of 1-2 years renewal, to start January 2022. The position is placed in the research groups of Dr. Rolf Kiessling at department of Oncology-Pathology, BioClinicum, Karolinska Institutet. We are looking for a highly motivated person with a strong background in immunology. The projects also involve the development of human T cell technologies and explore T cell repertoires in cancer patients.

Your profile

To qualify, the applicant must hold a PhD degree. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

The applicant must show verified skills particularly in in tumor immunology and immunotherapy of cancer and methodological expertise with a focus on human cellular immunology research. The candidate should be self-motivated, have good communication skills and an ability to interact effectively and work within a team. Fluency in English is a requirement.

The position will be paid as a salary, the amount of which depends on the background of the applicant.
