The Department of Global Public Health is an interdisciplinary institution that aims to advance knowledge on how to improve population health at local, national and global level. Research at the department aims to identify the determinants of health, develop and evaluate individual and structural interventions, and provide evidence for guidelines and policy documents. Many of the department's researchers are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision-makers at regional, national and international level. The department has 9 research groups, about 85 research students and about 140 employees.

Your mission

The research assistant will be part of a FORTE funded research project entitled “Rumours and trust in vaccine hesitant communities in Sweden”. Tasks include recruitment of participants and data collection for focus group discussions and in-depth interviews. Moreover, the research assistant will transcribe and analyse qualitative data, write manuscripts and contribute to the overall running of the project (depending on requirements).

The job will be carried out mostly in the research field (some days in Malmö and Stockholm). Can work remotely otherwise.

The employment is for 6 months with a possible extension. 

Your profile

Required competencies:

  • Trained and experienced in qualitative research methods.
  • Experienced in recruitment of research participants.
  • Trained and experience in conducting in-depth interviews and focus group discussions.
  • Trained and experienced in transcription and qualitative data analysis.
  • Swedish and Somali speaking, or Swedish and Arabic speaking.

Desired competencies:

  • Experience and interest in social media research.
  • Interested and possibly experienced in vaccine hesitancy research.
  • Passionate about health equity.
  • High communicative competency and independent worker.
