Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

You will be joining the Division of Pathology at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, KI. Our research aims at understanding the risk factors and prognostic indicators for different female cancers, primarily cervical cancer. We use different research tools in addressing these research questions, including population and health registers, large scale cohort and case-control studies, as well as different biobanks. We employ advanced epidemiology, combined with basic research ideas and molecular studies.

Your mission

The work will focus on cancer epidemiology, with an emphasis on investigating the risk and prognosis of cervical cancer among women with mental disorders, using large-scale register-based studies as well as cohort and biobank data. We will work closely with Professor Fang Fang, at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, KI.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

You have defended a thesis within cancer epidemiology, preferably with a focus on cervical cancer. The position requires advanced level knowledge of programming in SAS, Stata and/or R. You have experience from working with health data registers and feel comfortable using these to answer research questions. You also have experience working independently on projects and driving them forward, with senior supervision.
