The research will be performed at the division of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Fredrik Lanners lab which combines fundamental developmental and stem cell biology with clinical development of stem cell based cell therapies for treatment of macular degeneration and diabetes.

Your mission

As postdoctoral bioinformatician in the Lanner lab you will work on multiple parallel projects aiming to develop effective and safe cell therapies treating blindness, Diabetes and Parkinson in close collaboration with Anna Falk and Malin Parmar labs at Lund University. The project will develop assays based on deep transcriptional analysis to establish functionality and safety of personalized stem cell therapies within the recently initiated precision medicine center IndiCell. In parallel the posdoc will be working with development and evaluation of synthetic stem cell models in close collaboration with Andres Salumets, Kristina Gemzell-Danielssons, Vanessa Lundins and Ken Chiens labs at Karolinska Institutet as well as multiple international collaborators.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

The candidate should have extensive experience in bioinformatics with specific knowledge of large-scale single cell RNA sequencing analysis. Previous experience in embryology, stem cell biology and cell therapies are strong merits. The candidate should be highly motivated, ambitious, have good communicative skills and documented ability, preferably through a strong publication record. We value personal qualities in the selection of candidates.
