Postdoctoral researcher in psychology with a focus on inequalities in mental health

We are currently looking for a postdoctoral researcher who will be working on several research projects in a research group lead by Richard Bränström with a focus on inequalities in health and minority stress. The position entails participation in, planning, and conducting research studies that aim to identify risk factors and mechanisms of mental health in minority groups based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The position provides an excellent opportunity for transition to career independence and an engaging and international research environment where you will be able to contribute to internationally leading research.

Your mission

The post-doctoral associate will be based at the Division of Psychology, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet. The postdoctoral researcher will mainly work with statistical analysis, manuscript writing, and grant applications. The appointment is for one-year that is potentially renewable contingent on funding and performance. The successful candidate will be a part of a productive and dynamic research environment and work closely with the study team to:

Obtain data across longitudinal time points and prepare data for analyses.
Develop analysis plans to test study hypotheses and conduct statistical analyses.
Prepare manuscripts for publication (The post-doctoral associate will have the opportunity to be the first author on several papers and a co-author on others).
Assist in project coordination tasks, including managing databases and overseeing participant retention efforts.
Outline an independent research development plan and attain experiences in education and supervision.

Your profile

Applicants should have a PhD in psychology, social epidemiology, sociology, or an allied discipline. The successful candidate must have experience in register and survey-based epidemiological research as well as data management and analysis using, e.g., SAS, STATA, SPSS, Mplus, or R. Excellent English skills is a requirement and Swedish skills are meriting. The work involves close collaboration with others and demands flexibility and excellent communication skills.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
