The Unit of Occupational Medicine conducts research in the area of working life and health. The goal of our research is to identify and prevent psychosocial, ergonomic, physical, and chemical health risks in the work environment. Our activities include research, education and dissemination of information. The unit is closely linked to, and shares its’ facilities with, the Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine (CAMM) at Region Stockholm.

We are looking for a person who wants to work with epidemiological studies in the field of working life and health. The person will be employed by the Unit for Occupational Medicine at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet.

Your mission

This post doc position is focused on research in a large epidemiological project focusing on occupations, psychosocial and ergonomic working conditions, and health-related outcomes, particularly mental health and early labor-market exit. Health inequalities within the working population and their background are also studied. In these projects, you are expected to participate in data processing and analysis as well as writing scientific reports.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

We are looking for a highly motivated person with a strong interest in epidemiology as related to working life. You need to have a PhD in medical science, public health science, occupational health or the like. Previous experience in epidemiological research is essential, and relevant background in public health or occupational epidemiology is an advantage. Good skills in statistical software, such as SAS or Stata, is a requirement. The applicant must also have experience in writing and publishing scientific articles. Teaching experience is a merit.
