Hjerling-Leffler group (http://hjerling-leffler-lab.org) at The Division of Molecular Neurobiology is a part of the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB). The Department resides in a new research building for Biomedical Research, Biomedicum, providing modern technological platforms and an open environment for interactions across departments and disciplines.

Job description
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate that has a genuine interest in research and research administration. The tasks consist of providing administrative support to the PI and play an important role for the smooth running of the group. The work includes establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with unit staff, internal and external collaborators, authorities and funding agencies, invoice management, financial reporting, certain personnel administration. This position is a parental leave vacancy.

Your profile
We are looking for an early career stage researcher at KI, perhaps in your first years after Ph.D., who would like to gain some valuable administrative and communication experience by working part-time 50%. You will work closely with the PI, taking part in running the daily operations of the group. Experience from work with similar duties at a University is an advantage. We work in collaboration with other groups and very interdisciplinary, which requires you to be independent, have a positive attitude and be cooperative. Personal suitability is therefore of great importance.

The work requires

  • A PhD degree in the field of Medical Science, Biomedicine, Molecular Biology or similar
  • good ability to plan and prioritize their work
  • has very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
  • Administrative experience

It is an advantage if you have experience of:

  • Work in Primula and UBW/Agresso
  • Work in a research environment and / or work with similar tasks within a university / college
