The Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) works in several strategic areas that are important for improving human health. Your mission

The Unit for Bioentrepreneurship (UBE) conducts research on and education in innovation and entrepreneurship. A two-year global Master's programme in Bioentrepreneurship (MBE) is offered at the unit, together with programme elective and single-subject courses. UBE is the KI competence centre of the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (an academic collaboration between KI, the Stockholm School of Economics, the Royal Institute of Technology, the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm University and the Royal College of Music), providing interdisciplinary education. UBE is also involved in externally funded educational projects. With the help of these courses and projects, the aim is to encourage students, researchers and others to learn and apply the entrepreneurial method and approach.

We are looking for an ambitious and responsible team member. You have an open-minded attitude towards your work and work environment and a passion for education, entrepreneurship and innovation, especially in the field of life science.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a Lecturer is one who has demonstrated pedagogical proficiency and has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence in the relevant subject area. You will have the overall responsibility for developing and executing the course Product development in life science. You will also be part of the unit faculty, contributing to other courses by delivering modules and supervise projects.

Your work will include;

  • Course planning including finding guest speakers
  • Execution including teaching
  • Assessment and grading of assignments
  • Course evaluation
  • Reporting of grades
  • Archiving
  • Taking an active part in the UBE faculty

Bases of assessment

Required qualifications (must be supported by documentation)

  • Master's degree
  • Education within innovation and entrepreneurship in the following areas relevant for the current position:
    • Regulatory requirements within the Life Science industry
    • Intellectual property rights
    • Challenges of manufacturing and selling products towards the life science industry with a focus on pharmaceuticals and medical devices
  • Experience of teaching at university level (in English)
  • Proficiency in English (both speaking and writing)

Meriting qualifications (must be supported by documentation)

  • Doctoral degree within a field that is relevant for the position
  • Experience leading and developing courses
  • Work experience from an entrepreneurial setting, e.g. a start-up (in areas relevant for the position)
  • Graduate from the Clinical Innovation Fellowships programme
  • Basic knowledge of Swedish
  • A solid network within the Life science industry, national and international

Personal skills

In connection with the appointment of Lecturers, we will accord special weight to teaching skills. Since this recruitment involves intense interaction with students, your personal skills will be important such as good communication skills, structure and ability to collaborate, but also the ability to run projects and work independently under time pressures and with, in some cases, limited instructions.
