We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with a strong background in food biochemistry and molecular allergology for projects investigating how exposure to micro-nanoparticles may influence toxcity/allergenicity of food/respiratory allergens. Our objectives are to increase the knowledge on binding of allergens to micro-nanoparticles and their influence and mechanisms on the development of allergy. We have an inspiring and interactive research environment with many national and international colleagues. Excellent laboratory facilities and well-characterized patient materials are available.

Your mission

The successful candidate will work with a broad range of immunological techniques, protein and antibody derived assays, flow cytometry, FluoroSpot and several cell-based systems (Caco2-cells, dendritic cells, LAD2-cells). The scientist will take part in planning and conducting research studies, including data management, statistical analyses and manuscript writing. Good collaboration skills and capacity to independently develop the research area are needed

Eligibility requirements

You have a PhD degree in biochemistry and documented experience of working in the field of molecular allergology. Previous experience of food biochemistry and clinically oriented studies in food allergy is mandatory. The candidate must have proven ability to write peer-reviewed scientific articles in the area of research and to orally present results (documented by e.g. participation in international meetings) writing grant application. Excellent communication skills in English are needed, as the group and work environment is international with extensive network of international collaborations.]

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.

Assessment criteria

It is particularly meritorious that the applicant has shown:

  • Extensive experience of standard immunological techniques such as ELISA, Western, cell culture, FACS, cell based assays (several cell-based systems (Caco2-cells, dendritic cells, LAD2-cells), ELISPOT, FluoroSpot, mass spectrometry-based proteomics and allergenomics is particularly meritorious.

It is meritorious that the applicant has shown:

  • Knowledge of working with EU-projects.

Location

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of twelve divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located within the Clinical Immunology and Allergy division based in Solna.
