Your mission

We are looking for a highly self-motivated and ambitious person to elucidate cardiogenesis in animal models. The position will include work with animal congenital heart disease models, cells and embryos and to perform molecular cell biology and imaging techniques. The candidate will be responsible for setting up and organizing the project and as such be responsible for his/her own academic and research activities, elaboration and test of hypothesis, adaptation of existing or new scientific techniques and data analysis.

Your profile

The successful candidate is required to have a strong background in translational medicine, hold both a M.D. and Ph.D. degree and have experience in NHP heart development/disease. Fluency in English both spoken and written is a requirement. The candidate’s personal skills will be highly valued.

Specific background and skills required.

  • PhD in Molecular Medicine or Cell Biology
  • MD
  • Laboratory Animal Science Function A course certificate or equivalent
  • Strong background in in translational medicine
  • Background in embryogenesis, cardiogenesis and heart regeneration
  • Documented experience in CRISPR-Cas9 and molecular cloning
  • Experience of mice study, such as pathogenesis of heart diseases including myocardial infarction, infarction/reperfusion and heart failure
  • Experience in primate cell-line culture and differentiation, and primary cell/tissue culture
  • Experience with Immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy

Meriting skills

  • Experience in adult mice myocardial injection, Langendorff and cardiomyocytes isolation
  • Experience in adult mice renal capsule transplantation
  • Experience with NHP model, including physiology, pathology and cardiovascular disease
  • Experience in microangiography
