At the division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, The Lanner laboratory is working towards novel treatments of Age-related macular degeneration through the use of human embryonic stem cells. The laboratory is producing stem cell derived retinal cells to be used in upcoming clinical trial in 2022. We are now recruiting a biomedical analyst to strengthen the team in manufacturing and testing of our cellular product, CellThRPE1.The work is done through integrated collaboration with Karolinska University Hospital, St Eriks Eye Hospital and NovoNordisk. This is the perfect position if you are interested in the field of stem cell based regenerative medicine at the interface between academic research, clinical manufacturing and industry. 

Your mission

As a biomedical analyst in the Lanner Lab you will be part of a highly competent and dedicated team developing and producing our embryonic stem cell derived cell product CellThRPE1, as a treatment of Age related Macular Degeneration. The position is for two years but can be extended further to include additional roles within the Lanner lab projects.

Your profile

The applicant should preferably have experience in research concerning regenerative stem cell biology with extensive experience in mammalian cell culture. In the selection we will put focus on subject specific knowledge relating to culture and analysis of cell culture products as well as GMP production. Scientific background is desirable but not a requirement. Analysis methodologies could include flow cytometry, ELISA, immunofluorescence and qPCR. Previous experience with human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation is preferred. The successful applicant also needs to be highly motivated, structured and collaborative. Collaborative and communicative abilities are highly valued.
