Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

The Peter Bergman research-group (the AMP-group) works with novel strategies to boost innate immunity as a novel way to prevent or treat infections with bacteria and viruses. The focus during recent years has been on understanding the role of antimicrobial peptides in host immunity. The group works with a wide range of methods and experimental models, including animal models and patient-samples to address relevant research questions.

We are now seeking a Research Specialist to join our team.

Your mission

We are looking for a highly experienced research specialist with excellent knowledge of the methods and models used in the group. This includes previous experience from work with isolation and characterization of antimicrobial peptides using HPLC and mass-spectrometry. The applicant also needs excellent technical skills from work with cell-lines and primary cells, with a focus on human macrophages. Moreover, experience from handling patient-samples is essential for the position. We also require documented training in advanced confocal microscopy techniques. In addition, since we study a wide range of microorganisms, the applicant needs thorough experience of work with virulent mycobacteria (BSL3) as well as extensive experience from working with other bacteria and viruses (BSL2). Finally, experience from supervising students at different levels is a merit for the position.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.
