Our team at the WHO collaborating center at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, Division of Neonatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology is interested in the role of selective progesterone receptor modulators (SPRMs) in women’s health. We now offer a post doc position to study the fundamental biology of these agents. DO you want to join our interdisciplinary team and work with us on our common vision which is to make women’s cancers a disease of the past?
Within the context of research projects including the European Research Council (ERC) BRCA-ERC programme (PI: Prof Martin Widschwendter), we will study the role of the progesterone receptor antagonists in women with a germline BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation on breast and ovarian cancer prevention without concurrently increasing the risk for endometrial cancer. We will utilise clinical samples, primary cell organoid models, epigenetic (i.e., DNA methylation and chromatin structure), genetic (i.e., somatic mutations), and single cell technologies to assess the effects of progesterone and progesterone receptor antagonists.
We are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral candidate with experience in organoid cell culture and, ideally, basic experience in single cell sequencing to join our research lab located in BioClinicum.
