The Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) conducts world leading research in aging, dementia, epidemiology and care sciences. This research extends from basic molecular and cell levels to clinical research and societal studies. NVS educates almost a third of KI students at basic and advanced levels. The Department has approximately 540 employees and a revenue 2023 of 530 million SEK. It comprises seven divisions, located at Campus Flemingsberg and Campus Solna.

Division
The Division of Physiotherapy conducts education at basic and advanced levels, research education and research within physiotherapy. Approximately 40 teachers/researchers and administrators are employed and some 20 doctoral students registered. The division is in an expansive phase regarding education as well as research.

Duties
We are looking for a person who is deeply dedicated and wants to lead and develop our research and research education within the field of Physiotherapy. In addition to conducting high quality research an important assignment is ensuring high quality research based education.  Among the duties, the position includes responsibility for coordination and development of the research field of Physiotherapy at the department. In addition the position includes supervision of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students and post-docs as well as teaching on all levels. Over time the duties will be adjusted to the candidate’s competence and interest but also to the needs of the division.

Possibilities to combine the position with duties in a physiotherapy clinic or in primary health care in Stockholm County Council may be considered.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as professor who has shown scientific as well as pedagogical proficiency. Employment also requires high ability to coordinate and lead the development of Physiotherapy research. We seek a person competent to be a professor within the research field of Physiotherapy with experience of having published leading research in international scientific journals, and good experience in education at the university level. The capability to contribute to the division’s development in research and research education is also necessary. The person should also have an extensive track number of international scientific publications, and experience in project supervision at basic, advanced, and research levels in Physiotherapy.

Documented experience from collaborations is required for the position. International collaborations and academic leadership experience are of merit. Formal professional education as a physiotherapist or registered physiotherapist, broad research and education experience within the area are required, as well as higher teacher education (minimum 5 weeks) or equivalent knowledge and pedagogic skill.

The assessment will weight qualifications as follows: educational expertise (2), research expertise (3), leadership, development and collaboration expertise (2).
