Your mission

The Laboratory Assistant will work with the daily handling of clinical samples from participants in BAMSE Covid19; a follow up process that takes place at Forskningscentrum and the Department of Clinical Science and Education Södersjukhuset, in cooperation with the Institutet för Miljömedicin, Karolinska Institutet and Region Stockholm.
Your main task will be to prepare plasma, serum and blood samples and to isolate peripheral immune cells, but you will also be expected to arrange the transportation of tests, prepare and take inventory of laboratory materials as well as participate in the daily planning of work in the laboratory.
You will be part of a group that collaborate closely with each other consisting of research nurses, BMA, statisticians and scientists.

Your profile

We are looking for a student or other candidate who holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology or similar.
The candidate should have strong experience of laboratory work, be able to work independently with basic laboratory tasks and should have done their placement or their master thesis at a laboratory.

An very good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written, is required. Previous experience of human peripheral immune cell work is merited.  Great emphasis will be placed on personality, and the candidate’s ability to work flexible hours.
