The position is placed in the Epidemiology and Public Health Intervention Research (EPHIR) group. Within our research group you will have the opportunity to work together with an interdisciplinary team of researchers within the area of epidemiology and intervention research.

Your mission

We are looking for a project coordinator with extensive experience of epidemiological research focusing on cardiovascular and pharmacoepidemiology as well as the expertise on advanced statistical methods. The project coordinator is initially expected to conduct research concerning the following:

  1. the life-course risk on cardiovascular diseases
  2. the use of medications among older people

primarily through using large register-based studies.

The project coordinator is later expected to develop new research lines in the area of public health and epidemiology. The project coordinator is hence expected to write applications for future funding and to develop collaborations and networks within the research area, both nationally and internationally. The tasks also include supervising master and doctoral students, as well as participating in teaching and course organization in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs that are conducted at the department. The position is a two-year temporary employment.

Your profile

To be eligible for this position you need to have a doctoral degree in medical science, with a focus in public health sciences, epidemiology or a related area. The applicant should have documented research experience in the field of cardiovascular and pharmacoepidemiology corresponding to merits as assistant professor. It is meritorious to have done studies on elderly populations.  The applicant must have experience with epidemiological methods and to apply related analytical methods. Great emphasis will be placed on experience with analyses of population-based register data and publications in these areas; experience with analyzes of register data from Sweden and other international materials is highly meritorious. We further expect that you have received your own external research funding, undergone university pedagogical training and have experience of supervising doctoral students. Excellent written and oral skills in English, as well as the ability to interact socially and scientifically with other researchers and students, are also important.
