Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

Your mission

A postdoctoral researcher position is now available at ARC. The postdoc is expected to take a leading role in analyzing and reporting studies using register data and historical reforms of the Swedish educational system to estimate the effects of education on health outcomes in later life. Developing own research questions and research emphasis within this context is encouraged.

This is a temporary position until 2021-12-31.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

We are searching for outstanding researchers with an interest in life-course epidemiology, specifically the effects of education on late life health outcomes. The applicant must have a doctoral degree. A background in health economics, medical epidemiology, public health, statistics, or related fields is a merit. Documented experience of working with Swedish register data (e.g., cause of death, national inpatient register) and in particular knowledge of the Swedish educational system and the historical reforms of this system, and links to register data, will be highly valued. An early track record of publications on this topic is therefore meritorious. Advanced skills and training in statistical analyses will furthermore be valued. The candidate must be thorough, efficient, a proficient communicator in English, and enjoy working in an international and dynamic team.
