We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist in projects investigating the mechanisms of allergic disease, elucidating the immune response to allergen molecules, with focus on severe food and respiratory allergy. Our objectives are to improve diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases as well as to increase the understanding of their underlying mechanisms. We have an inspiring and interactive research environment with many national and international colleagues. Excellent laboratory facilities and well-characterized patient materials are available.
The successful candidate will work with a broad range of immunological techniques, protein and antibody derived assays, flow cytometry and cell-based systems. Previous experience of molecular allergology is a great advantage. The postdoctoral researcher will take part in planning and conducting research studies, including data management, statistical analyses and manuscript writing. Furthermore, good collaboration skills and capacity to independently develop the research area are needed.
You have a PhD degree in biomedical sciences and documented experience of working within the field of allergy. You are well acquainted with immunological techniques such as ELISA, Western, cell culture and FACS. Experience in single cell sequencing and data analysis is a great advantage. The candidate should furthermore have good skills in statistical methods, e.g SPSS. Previous experience of clinically oriented studies in allergy is mandatory. You have a strong competence in running projects independently and formulate new hypotheses and critically examine the results. Furthermore, you have proven ability to write peer-reviewed scientific articles in the area of research and to orally present results (documented by e.g. participation in international meetings). You have excellent knowledge in English, including scientific writing and communication, as the group and work environment is international with extensive network of international collaborations.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
