At Division of Insurance Medicine, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, we study different aspects of sickness absence, health, work and living conditions. In Pia Svedberg’s research group, the main focus is to study risk factors for and consequences of work incapacity taking into account factors related to family. The research group offers a unique opportunity to work with research questions related to heredity and environment using both survey and register data on a large twin cohort. We offer a stimulating scientific environment as well as a possibility to collaborate with other researchers in Sweden and abroad.
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to participate in several projects on work incapacity. The main focus of the studies to be conducted will be on mental health and sustainable work life. The work tasks will include study planning, data management and analysis, manuscript writing, and grant applications. The work involves close collaboration with other researchers in the group.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent. The successful candidate must have experience of register and survey-based epidemiological research as well as data management and analysis using, e.g., SAS, STATA, SPSS, or R. Extra merit to applicants with previous experience of research in area of sickness absence and of conducting twin studies. Excellent English skills is a requirement and Swedish skills are meriting. The candidate is expected to be flexible and attentive to details, capable of working independently as well as demonstrate excellent communication skills.
