Your mission

We are looking for a project coordinator with extensive experience of epidemiological studies concerning psychosocial factors, reproductive- and cardiovascular epidemiology. The project coordinator is initially expected to conduct research concerning

  1. the association between bereavement, other psychosocial factors and the risk of cardiovascular diseases
  2. the association between prenatal factors and the risk of cardiovascular diseases

primarily through register-based data. The project coordinator is later expected to develop her/his research lines in the area of public health and epidemiology. The project coordinator is also expected to write applications for future funding and to develop collaborations and networks within the research area, both nationally and internationally. The tasks also include supervising master and doctoral students, as well as participating in teaching and course organization in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs that are conducted at the department. The position is a two-year temporary employment.

Your profile

To be eligible for this position you need to have a doctoral degree in medical science and it is meritorious if you are an associate professor in medical science with a focus on public health science, epidemiology or a related field. You have to have documented research experience in the field of social, reproductive and cardiovascular epidemiology corresponding to merits as associate professor. The applicant must have experience with epidemiological methods and with related analytical methods for etiological and prognostic studies concerning cardiovascular diseases. Great emphasis will be placed on experience with analyses of population-based register data and publications in these areas; experience with analyzes of register data from Sweden and other Nordic countries is highly meritorious. We further expect that you have received your own external research funding in recent years in the areas mentioned above, have undergone university pedagogical training and have experience of supervising doctoral students. Excellent written and oral skills in English is a requirement. The ability to interact socially and scientifically with other researchers and students is also important.
