Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

Within our multidisciplinary research group you will find a unique option to work closely together with cutting edge researchers with translation of basic molecular immunology into clinical useful drugs and diagnostics. We offer an engaging and international research and development environment where you may contribute to high quality design of compounds on an internationally competitive level.

Your mission

This postdoctoral project revolves around design, development and expression of biomolecules for T-cell diagnostics and curative treatment within our focus areas SARS-Cov-2 and multiple sclerosis (MS) and personalized neoantigen design for adoptive cell transfer and vaccination of solid cancer. It is mainly comprised of two parts:

The first part involves immunological aspects with deeper characterization of antigen-specific T-cells specific for SARS-CoV-2 and MS from patient and control samples using a combination of own established methods as well as T-cell proliferation assays, flow cytometry and FluoroSpot analysis. The exact methods regarding T-cell expansions and FACS will partly be developed during the project. Moreover, in this part you will work on expansions, identification and phenotyping of tumor-specific Tcell responses in pre-clinical and clinical settings, as well as to confirm previous FluoroSpot results
regarding antigen-specific T-cell frequencies.

The second part has a molecular biology focus where you will adopt therapeutic immune design to produce, purify and characterize biomolecules for various applications: autoantigen and virus based diagnostics and treatment, as well as personal treatment of solid cancer. You will be expected to participate in method development and small and large scale production at all stages of development of
protein-based drugs.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
