At the Rheumatology Division at the department of Medicine, Karolinska Institutet at Karolinska University Hospital, Solna, there is a need for a qualified cellular immunologist who will be able to manage a project on immune-regulation and immune tolerance development in rheumatic disease, and in particular in arthritis,

Your mission

The task includes the development of systems in human for immune-surveillance of antigen-specific B and T cells in patients with rheumatic diseases as well as work on tolerance therapies in rodents.

Your profile

The successful candidate should have a PhD in a relevant field of medicine,  have a good knowledge of immunology and of B and T cell work, and should also have experience of work with immunotherapies in humans or in rodents. Previous work in laboratories outside Sweden is a strong merit for this position, in particular if this work has involved studies in cellular immunology and mucosal immunology as well as immune tolerance studies.

The candidate should have a good knowledge of genetics and of immune reactions of interest for the initiation, disease course and therapies of arthritis. The candidate should also have a documented ability to produce and publish science in English.

Location

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of twelve divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located within the division of reumatology.
