The latest medical technological development in imaging modalities together with artificial intelligence will affect the field and the profession in an exciting development. In this advanced technological development, knowledge about the interaction with the patient will continue to be a very important aspect of the profession.

Your mission

We are looking for a qualified leader of research and education (at both undergraduate as well as postgraduate level) at the Division of radiography, Karolinska Institutet. The position is focused on education and research with a special focus on the development of the Study Programme in Radiography, research in various aspects of the main area and broad collaboration with the health services and with other departments at Karolinska Institutet. The position includes an assignment as head of the Division of radiography which includes personnel and budget responsibilities. There is also an element of collaboration with several other departments at KI, which promotes a higher quality of education.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for employment as a Senior Lecturer with focus on education and research, in addition to holding a doctoral degree, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated excellent pedagogical expertise; good scientific expertise; management, development and collaborative skills. Teaching qualifications:

The applicant should have national as well as international pedagogical experience of collaboration and development within the subject and different program levels, as well as individual broad educational experience.

Management, development, and collaborative skills:

The applicant should have experience from pursuing and developing cooperation and knowledge-exchange between the health services and the academy in order to promote good access to high quality in-service training with a clear connection to current research activities.

Scientific qualifications

The applicant should hold a doctoral degree and have shown good ability to independently conduct high-class research in the subject area of ​​radiography where the applicant's own contributions have been significantly documented through first and last authorship.

The position may be combined with a clinical position.

The applicant shall also have completed courses of 10 weeks of higher education training in teaching or have equivalent competence in accordance with the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions recommendations for qualification as a higher education teacher.

Assessment criteria

The Senior Lectureship has a focus on education and research. The assessment will weight qualifications as follows: pedagogical expertise (3), leadership, development, and collaboration expertise (3), research expertise (2).

For this position, the following competencies are highly valued:

  • experience in developing and evaluating quality outcomes in education
  • knowledge of internationalization as an important aspect of higher education
  • very good leadership skills and knowledge to, in collaboration with the healthcare and other institutions at KI develop education of high quality
  • experience of personnel and budget responsibilities with both planning and follow-up.
  • ability to conduct high-quality research in the field of radiography

After an overall assessment of the expertise and qualifications of the candidates, Karolinska Institutet will judge which of the candidates that have the best potential to contribute to a positive development of the activities at KI.
