Karolinska Institutet, Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery

- with focus on research

Do you want to contribute to bedside clinical education and top-quality clinical research?

The Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery (MMK) has well established educational- and research profiles in clinical surgery at a high international level and carries out both preclinical and clinical research within numerous fields.

The Surgery course is an essential part of the medical program in teaching the students in diagnostics and treatment of common surgical disease entities. With the re-direction of patient cohorts from the highly specialized Karolinska University Hospital to other hospitals, a collaboration has been established with Capio St Görans Hospital (CStG) within the Emergency Trauma and Intensive Care Unit, and parts of this teaching are conducted at CStG.
