We offer an engaging and international research environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to high quality research at international top level.
A postdoctoral position is available within the Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive and related Disorders Across the Lifespan research group, where you will find a unique opportunity to work closely with top researchers in the field. Our research program aims to understand the causes and consequences of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive and related disorders using a variety of methods such as genetic epidemiology and brain imaging.
The successful applicant will be linked to Professor Mataix-Cols’s research group at Centre för Psychiatry Research (CPF). Professor Mataix-Cols’ group conducts multi-disciplinary research (e.g., biological, clinical, social, epidemiological) in the areas of obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in the register-based epidemiological projects with a particular emphasis on pharmacoepidemiological studies examining the predictors and long-term health consequences of chronic benzodiazepine use. The research projects will also include studying the risk factors of psychiatric disorders of interest, impact of such disorders in health and social outcomes, and mortality.
You will be involved in all parts of the projects, ranging from generating own research ideas, to acquisition and management of data from large population-based registers, statistical data analysis, and writing scientific publications and grant proposals. The postdoctoral researcher will have plenty of opportunity to develop his/her own ideas and will be encouraged to do so. You will have full access to the infrastructure of the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet and to the Swedish population registers.
This is a temporary full-time position for the period of 1 year with a possibility of extension for another 1 or 2 years.
