The  Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching in immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC has about 430 active employees, including 100 PhD students, 50 postdoctoral researchers and 26 professors. The lab of Professor Sonia Lain has been focused on the area of drug discovery for the treatment of cancer. 

Your mission

Your mission as a postdoctoral researcher is to perform in vivo studies on novel approaches to modulate metabolic syndrome and cachexia.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence.

Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent

• A broad knowledge of research in metabolism and cancer is required as well as experience on interacting with clinicians.
• Applicants must have an active license and substantial experience in performing experiments with rodents.
• Experience in cell culture, western blotting, ELISA, microscopy, flow cytometry is also valued.
