Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Within our group we perform immunological research and our focus is on T cells, especially γδ T cells, as these immune cells have so far not been efficiently exploited. We work with tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in solid tumors (ovarian and prostate cancer) and samples from patients who underwent allogeneic stem cell transplantation. We offer an engaging and international research environment where you may contribute to high quality research on an internationally competitive level.

Your mission

As postdoctor you will be responsible for collecting ovarian cancer patient-derived material and isolate lymphocytes from peripheral blood, ascites and tumor. You will be expected to use a wide range of immunological and biochemical techniques such as flow cytometry and fluoroSpot analysis for the characterization of these cells and to understand the environment in which these cells reside. You will be involved in teaching and tutoring of Ph.D. and master students. We would like to see that you have experience with CyTOF, chimeric antigen receptors and viral vector production.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

Applicants for this role should have completed a PhD in the field of immunology with a strong background in T cell biology. Experience with multicolour flow cytometry, cell sorting and related software packages (FACSDiva, FlowJo, Kaluza) is a prerequisite. Clear and concise communication and written skills in English are mandatory. In addition, hands-on experience in CyTOF, chimeric antigen receptors, viral vectors and advanced mice work would be highly desirable.

The postdoctor will work in close collaboration with the other group members and is expected to have high social skills. The postdoctor is also expected to organize, plan, execute, and analyze experiments in an independent manner. For this role, we put great emphasis on personal skills.
