At the Division of Insurance Medicine, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, we study different aspects of sickness absence, health, work and living conditions. Sickness absence affects individuals, health care, insurance organizations, employers, and society. The main focus of the research group is to study risk factors for and consequences of sickness absence taking into account factors related to family. The research group offers a unique opportunity to work with research questions related to heredity and environment in sickness absence. Survey data as well as data from national registries are used in the epidemiological studies. We offer a stimulating scientific environment as well as a possibility to collaborate with other researchers at the division, in Sweden and abroad.

Your mission

We are looking for one or more postdoctoral researchers that is expected to conduct studies in sickness absence research with a focus on sustainable working life and mental disorders. The work will be conducted in collaboration with other researchers in the group. The postdoctoral researcher will mainly work with study planning, data management and statistical analysis, manuscript writing, and grant applications.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence in epidemiology, public health, statistics, medicine, psychology, or sociology. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

The successful candidate must have experience of register and survey-based epidemiological research as well as data management and analysis using, e.g., SAS, STATA, SPSS, or R. Extra merit to applicants with previous experience of research in area of sickness absence and of conducting twin studies. Excellent English skills is a requirement and Swedish skills are meriting. The work involves close collaboration with others and demand flexibility and excellent communication skills.
