Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
The Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) conducts world-leading research in aging, dementia, epidemiology and care sciences. Aging Research Center (ARC) is a multidisciplinary academic environment, incorporated as an NVS division.
ARC conducts research in psychology, sociology, and various branches of medicine (e.g., neurology, epidemiology, psychiatry, and geriatrics). Senior researchers, postdocs, doctoral students, and guest researchers are all represented at ARC. Unique resources ‒ such as several large prospective studies, nationwide research registries, record linkage capabilities, and access to clinical and biological data ‒ are available at the center
Together with epidemiologists, sociologists, and clinical researchers, the candidate will contribute to a research project investigating the relationship between life-course socioeconomic position, physical disease burden, and mental health outcomes in older adults. The project will largely be based on the ongoing population-based Swedish National Study on Aging and Care-Kungsholmen (SNAC-K), which includes people 60+ years who are followed up at regular intervals. The protocol includes extensive assessment of social, medical, biological, and genetic factors as well as a comprehensive neuropsychiatric battery. The postdoc will be involved in all parts of the research process, including hypothesis generation, study design, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation and dissemination. Successful candidate will additionally contribute with their experience to other ongoing projects and will be involved in preparation of funding applications. Finally, teaching at first- and second-cycle levels at Karolinska Institutet will also be among the work duties.
