The Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) conducts research and education in the field of neuroscience from the molecular level to the society level. The clinical research and education is conducted in collaboration with Region Stockholm as well as other research groups from Karolinska Institutet and other universities.

Division
One of the Department’s five divisions is the Division of Insurance Medicine where we study different aspects of sickness absence, health, work and living conditions. Sickness absence affects individuals, health care, insurance organizations, employers, and society. In the Division of Insurance Medicine, we conduct interdisciplinary research, systematic literature reviews, post graduate training, and networking regarding sickness absence, disability pension, health, and living conditions. We study sickness absence in general, regarding different diagnoses (e.g. psychiatric, musculoskeletal, MS, diabetes, coronary heart disease, breast cancer etc.) and in different occupational groups and life situations. Our studies are based on data from different registers, surveys and interviews. About 40 people are employed and we run about 35 different projects. You find more information from our website
Duties
We are looking for one or more research assistants to the research group of Kristina Alexanderson. The work will involve different aspects, such as data management, data analyses, writing articles etc.
Entry requirements
Qualified to be employed as a research assistant is one who has obtained a master’s degree in health economics, public health or has equivalent scientific competence. Experience of working with register data is a plus, especially having such experience from Swedish nationwide registers regarding sociodemographics, sickness absence and health. Excellent knowledge in Swedish or English is a must. The work involves close collaboration with others, why such competence is of great importance.
