Karolinska Institutet, Department of Medicine, Solna, Rheumatology division

The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet. The department consists of several divisions that are separated into different research groups. The core activities of the department are research, doctoral education and undergraduate education for medical and biomedical students. The research has three main profiles: allergy, cardiovascular medicine and inflammatory diseases.

Division
The Rheumatology division, Solna, is an active and internationally successful research unit. Here clinical, experimental and epidemiological research is conducted in close collaboration with the rheumatology clinic at the Karolinska University Hospital, Solna. The unit has a leading role in several national and international consortia and networks.
Work will be conducted in the research group of Dr. Fredrik Wermeling and Lars Klareskog and has a focus on finding new treatment strategies for autoimmune diseases. For more information please visit https://ki.se/meds/forskargrupp-lars-klareskog.

Duties
The position involves managing a project cloning and expressing T cell receptors from patients.

Entry requirements
The successful applicant must have an extensive experience working with molecular biology techniques including cloning and expressing T cell receptors, including identifying and solving related problems. The applicant also needs to have a lot of experience working with non-replicating lenti/retroviruses for delivering TCR constructs into cell lines and mouse hematopoietic stem cells. Experience culturing and expanding mouse hematopoietic stem cells and working with animal models including bone marrow transplantations is essential. Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 is highly valued.
