Division

The National Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention of Mental Ill-Health (NASP) is located at the Karolinska Institutet Solna Campus. Since 1993 NASP has been Stockholm County Council’s advisor on suicide research and prevention against mental ill health. Additionally NASP is a WHO collaboration centre that works together with the European regional WHO offices in Copenhagen on outlining suicide prevention strategies globally.

Projects: Support to youth program development

This opening is for a project assistant position working at NASP to support the development of youth suicide prevention programs and to provide administrative support to other projects running at NASP.

Duties

The tasks of the project assistant include assisting project coordinators with fact checking and content as needed, writing reports in English and Swedish, assisting in project management and other administrative tasks.

Entry requirements

The ideal candidate has a BA in Public (Mental) Health, Global Health, Psychology, or related field. Experience working with youth in a public mental health capacity, in practice and/or research-based is a required asset. Having experience in coordinating and delivering youth programs in Sweden or internationally will be highly valued.

 Additionally the candidate should have excellent writing skills and have basic knowledge of project management. If the candidate is familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methods and has executed literature reviews, this is an advantage but not a prerequisite. Experience in training and in youth counselling will also be considered.

The applicant will be part of a dynamic research team and should have excellent administrative and organizational skills in streamlining content, archiving materials, organizing courses, and managing collaboration opportunities; an ability to multi-task and to prioritize work amidst competing demands; ability to both take direction and to work independently. Additionally the applicant should be driven, self-motivated, take initiative, have good communication and problem solving skills and have excellent writing skills. Microsoft Word and Powerpoint competence is required. Indesign and Wordpress competence is advantageous. The applicant must be fluent in English and Swedish.
