The Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery (MMK) carries out both preclinical and clinical research within numerous fields. Linked to the department are approximately 450 researchers, postgraduate students, teachers and technical & administrative staff and we currently have about 150 PhD students. The department is conducting undergraduate courses for medical students, physiotherapist students, biomedicine students and biomedical laboratory students.

Division
Research group: The unit of Clinical Physiology at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery at Karolinska Institutet is seeking a highly motivated research assistant to join the group of Associate Professor Martin Ugander and to better understand electrocardiographic and cardiac pumping efficiency components of left ventricular dyssynchrony. The candidate will join our research group and work on projects focused on the methodological development and clinical evaluation of left ventricular dyssynchrony. Duties
The projects will focus on identification of the relationship between electrocardiographic patterns and cardiac pumping measures, as well as the relationship between such findings and clinical outcomes

Entry requirements
We seek an enthusiastic and talented person that is a medical doctor and has an interest and experience in electrocardiography and cardiac pumping physiology using cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and echocardiography. Clinical and research experience in Clinical Physiology, specifically ECG, echocardiography and CMR is a particular advantage. Experience with statistical analysis using the software R, including survival analysis and cohort matching, is also a particular advantage.

Important personal qualifications are curiosity, engagement, flexibility, and social competence. Documented experience of coordinating projects is qualifying, as well as scientific publications and other working experience in research. Excellent knowledge in English and Swedish, in speech and in writing, is a prerequisite.
