Division
Centre for Psychiatry research (CPF) is one of the 5 sections within the department of Clinical Neuroscience. CPF is jointly led by Stockholm County Healthcare Area and Karolinska Institutet. Within the section we have 25 research groups. The main task for CPF is conducting research, education in Psychiatry and implementation of the findings in health care. We are now looking for a competent research coordinator with the specific goal of further developing our psychiatry education and strategic platform for psychiatry research. The platform will bring clinicians and researchers together in a joint effort to combine a variety of methods and techniques to develop clinical psychiatry research. A wide range of clinical measures will be used: behavioural assessments, and biological assessments including magnetic resonance brain imaging

Duties
The employment as a research coordinator within psychiatry will encompass two broader areas of coordination: a) the research school of clinical psychiatry and b) a strategic platform within CPF to build a psychiatry patient data bank.

Specifically, the role within psychiatry research school includes the following responsibilities: managing and coordination of courses, updating course syllabus, being the contact between the psychiatry research and the networks that are engaged with it (e.g. Karolinska Institutet’s research education board, local psychiatry board and other research schools).

The role within the strategic platform has the responsibilities of designing study protocols, collaborating with psychiatry clinics and with the researchers for data collection and networking within CPF and with the external partners. Data management, data analysis, and collaborating in the writing of scientific papers are also important tasks within this role.

Entry requirements
The eligible candidate should have a PhD and previous experience of similar duties. Having subject specific expertise is a needed qualification. Expertise in both project management, and the specific methods (e.g., functional and structural brain imaging, univariate and multivariate statistics) are essential merits along with documented experience with clinical psychiatry research. With regards to pedagogic skills suited to the research school, a needed merit is experience of organizing undergraduate and doctoral level courses and supervision of master level students. Good knowledge of written and spoken Swedish and English is a requirement. Applicants must demonstrate a high degree of structure, initiative and independence in their work. This role involves close co-operation with others, which is why the communication and collaboration skills is of great importance.
