Division

Positron emission tomography (PET) is a non-invasive molecular imaging technique increasingly used in functional studies of the brain in healthy volunteers and patients. The PET group at Karolinska Institutet is one of the world leading research groups in this area. One of the major applications of PET in drug development is to study drug receptor interactions in vivo, studies which provide an opportunity to optimize treatment with both new and established drugs. These principles are being applied in an extensive collaboration between the PET group at Karolinska Institutet and different pharmaceutical companies.

Duties

We are looking for a skilled and motivated radiochemist to support our work.

Radiochemical synthesis is a fundamental pre-requisite for medical research with PET. The development of new tracer molecules provides opportunities to investigate new aspects of human physiology. The work primarily consists of applied organic chemistry in the production of shortlived radionuclides for PET. Part of the work includes research in the field. There is also an opportunity for enrollment to PhD studies at the Karolinska Institutet.

Entry requirements

You have a university degree which includes extensive knowledge of organic chemistry. Several years of experience in radiochemistry and experience with the production of 18F and 11C labeled radioligands is a requirement. The research projects are based on cooperation between several occupational categories. The ability to cooperate and coordinate is therefore of great importance. In addition, you have good knowledge of English in both writing and speech.

Application process

The application is to be submitted on the Varbi recruitment system.

In the case of permanent employment, Karolinska Institutet applies 6 months of probation.
